Three employees of Carpenters Properties Fiji Limited have been charged by the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service for obstructing and removing tax officers from the MHCC complex last month.
Complex Manager Kratika Kumar and Security Officers Joeli Tikomaiqameya and Sakiusa Bulivorovoro appeared in the Suva Magistrates Court.
It is alleged that the three obstructed two Revenue and Customs Tax Officers by stopping and removing them from the shopping complex and prevented them from performing their duties on the 3rd of last month.
The matter has been adjourned to the 26th of next month.
The CEO of the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service Visvanath Das says obstructing a Revenue and Customs Officer is a serious offence and attracts a fine of up to $25,000 or imprisonment not exceeding 24 months or both.
