Hundreds of people turned up at the National War Memorial site in Nasese this morning to mark the continued recognition of the priceless sacrifice made by the sons and daughters of Fiji, who have served in the Fiji armed forces during the first and second world wars.
28 wreaths were laid at the memorial site with two minutes of silence to remember the sacrifice of the war veterans.
President Jioji Konrote was the chief guest at the event.
Meanwhile, the Dawn service commemoration for Ex-Servicemen and women was also held at the National War cemetery at Reservoir Road this morning.
