If any shops are found selling selective banned fireworks this Diwali will be fined $25,000.
Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism said if any businesses are found selling non-permitted fireworks that can be supplied and manufactured in Fiji will have to face severe penalties.
The Ministry said this will also imply if the proper instructions are not given on the selling products.
It said that the Department of National Trade Measurement and Standards and the Department of Mineral Resources have begun conducting inspections of retail outlets to ensure requirements are met.
Children under 18 years are not allowed to buy fire crackers.
Meanwhile, Department of Mineral Resources confirmed that people can use fire crackers for 7 hours from 5pm to midnight on November 11th and on other days from 5pm to 10pm.
