The Ministry for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation has received 245 gift packs from Punja and Sons Limited to make a memorable Diwali for the disadvantaged children and senior citizens.
Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Rosy Akbar said when people think of lighting the bright lamps this Diwali, they should also think of lighting up the faces of our deprived and disadvantaged children and senior citizens.
The Ministry will be doing residential visitations to 14 homes in Suva and around the country throughout this week beginning today.
Akbar reiterated that this will be the first visitation of its kind but definitely not the last for the ministry.
