240 youths from 12 different countries who are participants of the Ship for World Youth Leaders program are currently taking part in various courses and activities in Fiji.
Administration Officer Satoshi Nakazawa says they stopped in Auckland, New Zealand before heading to Fiji.
Nakazawa says the participants will go through various skills training and cross culture program while they are on board.
He says the challenges that participants face is the language barriers and the interaction skills with people.
Meanwhile, 22-year-old Maylin Chang who is representing Fiji says the program is about taking leadership.
The FNU student says being on board is great experience as it gives an opportunity to get the views of other individuals and what they have to offer from their country.
The participants will visit Nakini, Naganivatu, Sawani, Kasavu and Galoa villages tomorrow.
The participants of this program are from Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, Egypt, Fiji, India, Japan, Kenya, New Zealand, Tonga and the Ukraine.
The ship will depart Suva on Monday and stopover in the Solomon Islands to re-fuel before returning to Japan.
The voyage started on the 21st of the last month and will end on the 3rd of next month.
