The Minister for Town and Planning Parveen Bala has officially launched the 2016 national clean-up campaign today for the first time in the Northern Division at Civic Center in Labasa.
While addressing the public, Bala says the government has identified waste as the key urban management issues faced by municipal councils due to people irresponsibly dumping waste.
Bala says that a clean environment creates a more pleasant place to live in and also it creates a good impression on prospective employers, investors, professionals, and tourists who may visit our areas.
He says it will also eliminate the breeding grounds for mosquitoes and dangerous pests.
Bala urges all citizens to join the fight to keep our precious nation clean and green.
