The President of the Fiji Institute of Accountants, Nouzab Fareed.

The President of the Fiji Institute of Accountants, Nouzab Fareed says they feel the 2015 Companies Act is one of the most complex and impactful legislations ever to come into effect in Fiji probably in the last 20 years.

He made this comment while receiving the $18,000 cheque from ANZ who have come on board to support the Fiji Institute of Accountants symposium on the 2015 Companies Act.

Fareed says the 2015 Companies Act is not just a piece of paper.

ANZ’s CEO for Pacific and Fiji, Vishnu Mohan says the topics to be covered at the symposium such as corporate governance, financial reporting and corporate liability are all important factors of operating a successful and adaptable business.

The symposium on the 2015 Companies Act will be held tomorrow at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva where over 320 participants including board chairmans, accountants, directors and entrepreneurs are expected to be present.
