The Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama has told the villagers of the District of Veinuqa at Wainiyavu village in Namosi that this will be a good year for the nation.

He reminded them that the Government has brought some changes and reforms which will lead to stability and peace not only to the people in the urban areas but also to the rural areas.

Commodore Bainimarama reiterated that the election will go ahead in 2014 and the political party which will win the election will ensure to take Fiji forward and also there will be no racial differences in our multiracial society.

He also said the Namosi tour is part of the Prime Minister's office inspection to see that the development in the provinces are implemented.

Meanwhile for the 8 projects in the province, the Government has allocated more than $100,000 for Namosi.

Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama became the first Prime Minister to visit one of the remotest villages in Namosi as he led a government delegation on horseback to reach Wainiyavu village yesterday.

There are no roads leading to Wainiyavu and the only way to get there is on foot or on horseback and it takes two hours to get there from the nearest road.

Commodore Bainimarama in accepting the traditional welcome ceremony by the villagers said he was overwhelmed to see for himself the hardships faced by the villagers which did not deter them from making a living for themselves.

He said the Government has allocated funds to construct a bridge at Namado and Wainiyavo which will cost $1.2 million so people could easily transport their goods to the market.

The Prime Minister also gave 20 horses to the villagers as a means of transport which cost $6000.
