A total of 200 requests have been received by Save the Children Fiji from families seeking assistance for school uniforms, stationery and school sandals ahead of the new school year.
Save the Children Fiji CEO Iris Low McKenzie says that they are aiming to supply children with stationery kits that include school bags before school begins.
She adds that for requests that come in for school uniforms and school sandals, Save the Children then reach out to corporate partners that are willing to help meet the needs of these children.
McKenzie says Save the Children is also collecting stationery to donate to students by placing boxes at Vinod Patel outlets nationwide.
She says that the response so far has been overwhelming with the boxes filling up quickly from donations being dropped in every day.
