Twenty designers are ready to take the runway and showcase their talent to not only Fiji but to the Pacific in the inaugural Pacific Island Resort Show at the Fiji Fashion Week this year.

Managing Director Ellen Whippy Knight says with this new category designers will be able to have a benchmark for their work, as well as be able to network with local and regional designers.

The first ever Pacific Islands Resort Show will feature 12 designers from across the Pacific while 8 designers will show debut collections including a debut by Australia children’s wear label Jade Lloyd Jones.

This will also include q designer representing Tonga, Bou Fonua.

Fonua says despite challenges in learning the different fabrics, her strong link with tailoring skills boosted her interest even further, and she has not looked back since.

She has now opened her boutique in Auckland, New Zealand.

The Pacific Island Resort Show will be begin at 7 tonight at the Vodafone Area.

The Trendsetter Show will be held tomorrow night while the Gold Couture Show will be held on Saturday night.
