2 students charged in relation to a video going viral on social media to take their plea in April

Two students who were charged in relation to the video that went viral on social media last year will take their plea on the 27th of April.

One of the students appeared in the Nadi Magistrates Court today.

A notice was given to the sureties of the other student to make sure he is present at the next court sitting.

The video was of a 14‑year‑old girl who was allegedly sexually assaulted by a 17‑year‑old student.

The first accused, a 17‑year‑old boy is charged with one count of abduction of a girl below the age of 18 years and one count of defilement of a girl between the age of 13 to 18 years.

The second 17‑year‑old boy is charged with one count of trafficking of obscene publication.

The two are on bail for the sum of $1000 with two sureties.
