Two men charged with theft and sacrilege appeared in the Nausori Magistrates Court in the last hour and have been remanded in custody.
21-year-old Mesulame Tuiwaru and 19-year-old Nepote Sokobalavu Waqa allegedly broke into the LDS Church located in Waila last week and stole assorted electronic items valued at $2,000.
The two were arrested by officers in Nausori after they were allegedly trying to sell a television believed to have been stolen from the church.
Divisional Prosecution Officer Amelia Rokotuivuna served first phase of disclosures and also informed the court that Tuiwaru had two previous convictions in 2015.
Magistrate Vandhana Lal has transfered the matter to another court and it will be called tomorrow.
