Two men charged with the murder of a 46‑year‑old fisherman of Lokia Landing in Nausori have been released on bail by the Suva High Court this morning.
Eroni Raivani and Niko Baleiwairiki will have to report to the Nausori Police Station on a weekly basis.
Raivani and Baleiwairiki are charged each with one count of murder and they have pleaded not guilty to this charge.
While Waisea Motonivalu who is the third accused in this case has pleaded not guilty to one count of murder but has pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated robbery and has been denied bail by Justice Thushara Rajasinghe.
It is alleged that the three men brutally assaulted the fisherman before stealing a 15hp outboard engine earlier this year.
The case has been adjourned to the 10th of next month.
