Two men appeared in the Suva Magistrates Court regarding the FNPF Cyclone Winston Scheme investigations.
32-year-old Amos Rogoyawa and 22-year-old Gabriel Ledua have both been charged with one count of conspiracy to obtain property by deception and two counts of forgery.
Both have been remanded in custody and the case will be called again today.
It is alleged that Rogoyawa and Ledua deceptively obtained the sum of $5,000 which belongs to a 32-year-old man residing in Brisbane through FNPF’s Cyclone Winston Assistant Scheme.
Ledua allegedly forged the victim’s signature in the FRCA/FNPF joint card application.
Meanwhile, the third person who is a former employee of the FNPF, Rachael Matakibau has been charged with four counts of obtaining property by deception and has been remanded in custody by the Suva Magistrates Court.
