One doctor has been suspended and another resigned from a long‑term care facility in Arizona in US after a woman suffering from a stroke for more than 10 years gave birth there last month.
NBC news reports the unidentified physicians were responsible for the woman’s care.
The woman who is 29 has been at the privately‑owned facility for roughly a decade. She almost drowned when younger and is non‑verbal and incapable of moving on her own.
The woman gave birth to a baby boy in December last year.
It’s unclear who sexually assaulted her.
Phoenix police in the US have collected DNA samples from their male staff earlier this month and hospital has announced that it hired a private lawyer to determine how the woman was impregnated.
