The two Police officers from the People’s Republic of China who had assisted Fijian officers during the joint operation that saw the arrest of the 77 Chinese nationals last year will now be leaving the country.
Superintendent Shen Tao and Inspector Zhi Cun Zhang were farewell by Commissioner of Police Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho and senior officers.
The two officers had been assisting their Fijian comrades with Criminal Investigations as well as International Cooperation since their arrival in July 2017.
This was an outcome of a co-operation agreement formalized in April 2011 between Fiji and the People’s Republic of China’s Ministry of Public Security.
Qiliho says that Fiji and its Police Force will always be grateful to the People’s Republic of China for their continuous support.
The exchange program also sees two Fijian officers currently on a similar attachment program in China while the next two Chinese officers are expected to be in the country in July.
