It will be a major relief for road users as the Fiji Roads Authority has confirmed that major road upgrade projects that were part of the first phase of the Suva Arterial Road Upgrade Project will be completed by next month.
The first project that will reach its completion is the Kings Road upgrade.
This is from the Nabua Mead road roundabout to the Kinoya/Khalsa Road intersection which will finish by the 31st of this month.
One lane is currently closed to accommodate for the backfilling of the TFL chambers.
The upgrade along the Kings Road from the Makoi lights to the Laqere lights is expected to finish by the 17th of next month.
The works involve a full pavement upgrade.
The Gaji Road roundabout upgrade project will be completed by the 20th of next month.
The entry from Gaji Road to the roundabout will be open to public from the 10th of next month.
The Edinburgh Drive and the Ratu Mara Road upgrade which is from the Princes Road and Waimanu Road junction to the Lakeba Street junction will be completed on the 28th of next month.
Both roads have been undergoing full pavement upgrades.
Meanwhile works on the Nabua/Mead Road roundabout is expected to finish by the 5th of March.
