1,869 people in 35 evacuation centres in the Western Division - NDMO
Response team are helping clean up Ba Town as flood waters recede

The National Disaster Management Office has confirmed that there are 1,869 people in 35 evacuation centres in the Western Division.

Response teams are now helping clean up Nadi Town and Ba Town as flood waters have receded.

Officials are also conducting initial damage assessments.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama is also visiting areas affected by the floods caused by Tropical Cyclone Josie.

A government statement says  Bainimarama began his tour from Suva this morning and will be visiting areas along the way towards the Western Division.
