The Land Transport Authority has issued 185 traffic infringement notices this year for improper loading of vehicles and for vehicles not being properly secured.
Fijivillage had asked about improper loading of vehicles, where it has been seen that items are not properly secured in some vehicles and there is a danger of items falling on other vehicles and pedestrians.
LTA says vehicles need to be properly loaded and safely secured on the road which will ensure the safety of the general public.
LTA says its officers are placed at strategic locations around the country to monitor such vehicles.
For overloading, drivers are fined $1,000 for every extra tonne.
Members of the public can text LTA on 582 if they see any cases of improper loading of vehicles.
