$17.3M spent on capital projects in Tailevu

A total of $17.3 million was spent on capital projects in the province of Tailevu last year.

Speaking at the opening of the Tailevu Provincial Council meeting at Ratu Cakobau House in Nausori today, Commissioner Central Meleti Bainimarama said these projects will increase employment opportunities and boost the economy.

Bainimarama said the opening of the new Nausori market and bus station next month will also give a new look to Nausori town.

He said there are also plans to expand the Nausori Airport.

The Tailevu Provincial Council meeting continues this afternoon and is chaired by Josefa Serulagilagi.
