Fiji has recorded 173 cases of child labour from 2011 to 2014.
This is according to statistics provided by the European Commission and the International Labour Organisation.
While speaking at the World Day Against Child Labour Workshop, Acting Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations Jone Usamate said 2011 and 2012 recorded 64 cases each, 2013 recorded 41 cases while 2014 recorded the lowest with 4 reported cases.
Usamate said all the cases have been resolved by the Child Labour Unit.
Usamate said the Ministry has also withdrawn children from child labour and has referred all these children to schools with the assistance from the Ministry for Women and the Education Ministry.
