16,532 voters are expected to cast their votes at 142 venues on the second day of pre polling.

This has been revealed by  Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem in a press conference at the Fijian Elections Office.

He says 23 of these venues are in the Central Division, 47 in the Eastern Division, 30 in the North and 42 in the Western Division.

Saneem says the preliminary reports indicate a 65% voter turnout with pre poll voting at 109 venues completed.

The Supervisor of Elections has also revealed that the Fijian Elections Office conducted a quality assurance program for all its activities in this elections and the quality assurance team has picked up roughly 400 applications that were not earlier processed by the postal team.

Saneem has given authorization that these postal applications be included as valid applications and therefore postal packages are to be sent out to these applicants.

This means that the numbers now change for eligibility for the general elections, in total for polling day to 550,220 voters eligible to vote.

69,472 voters are eligible to vote in pre poll and the new figure for postal is 11,227 votes.

Local postal now stands at 10,040, overseas stands at 1,187 making total number of postal applications  11,227.
