Sixteen schools from Rakiraki to Sigatoka will be piloting an Anti-Corruption Curriculum in their school syllabus this year.
The Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption in collaboration with the Ministry of Education launched the second and third pilot phase of the National Anti Corruption Curriculum in Nadi in a workshop today.
The pilot phase includes students from Year 5 to Year 13 and it is anticipated to be a fully fledged program in all schools around the country by 2019.
FICAC Manager Corruption Prevention Kolora Naliva says the curriculum will see the integration of anti–corruption lessons into selected subjects like English, Social Science, Social Studies, Accounting and History.
She says the one day workshop is designed to assist teachers to familiarize themselves with the contents of the National Anti‑Corruption Resource Manual and its frameworks so that these teachers are able to understand their roles and responsibilities in the piloting phase.
