Around 150 residents of Links Lane 25 in Ba are over the moon as they will enjoy clean and consistent water supply from next week.
22 families in this area will now benefit from direct water mains that are currently being installed by the Water Authority of Fiji.
Advisory Councillor, Malkeet Singh says the people of Links Lane 25 were receiving dirty and inconsistent supply of water for the last 10 years.
He says water supply in the area worsened after Tropical Cyclone Winston and Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama on his visit to the area had promised to fix the problem.
The spokesperson for the Water Project, Dhirendra Singh says it’s hard to explain the joy that surrounds Links Lane 25 in Ba.
Singh says they are expecting to receive consistent supply of tap water from next Tuesday.
The people of Links Lane 25 in Ba have thanked the government, Water Authority of Fiji and Fiji Sugar Corporation for making this project successful.
