The $130 million Nadi International Airport project is expected to be completed by next month.
AFL Executive Chairman, Faiz Khan says passengers are now experiencing the new Departures Terminal which has a much higher ceiling, expanded and new departures immigration, walk through shopping experience in the departure lounge, expanded walkways and new arrivals immigration with a key focus being on more natural light.
He says they now have facilities like a non‑denominational prayer room and a smoker’s room which are open for their passengers.
Khan adds they will soon open the two lane passenger drop off area which is under the terminal roof.
AFL also has plans to have self check in kiosks in the departures terminal as well as Wifi.
Meanwhile, the Trustee and Organizing Committee Chair of Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards, Olivia Mavoa says the modernization project at Nadi Airport will complement their work in the tourism industry to attract more visitors to Fiji.
