130 households of Solevu village will now have an access to uninterrupted clean water flow after the opening of $198,300 worth of Rural Water Project in Malolo today.
While officiating the project, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama says people of Solevu village will no longer waste their valuable time searching for water sources.
He says because of Solevu’s maritime geography it has left the village isolated and vulnerable to water shortage especially in dry seasons but it has come to an end.
The Prime Minister says this rural water project will help the village adapt to our changing climate.
He says people thrive and their health, farming and economy all can steadily improve when water is readily available.
Bainimarama says it has also brought an end to the expensive, unreliable system of water carting.
