10-year-old boy passes away after being hit by a bus yesterday

A 10-year-old boy has passed away after he was hit by a bus yesterday.

Police have confirmed the bus was driven by a 40-year-old man who allegedly hit the boy in Wainisarava, Namosi.

Police say the driver who is in custody was heading towards Suva from Narayawa Village when the alleged incident occurred at Wainisarava where the boy is alleged to have run across the road.

The victim was rushed to the Navunikabi Health Centre but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police investigations continue as the road death toll now stands at 13 compared to 15 for the same period last year.
