More than $100,000 has been raised through the Viti Spinal Injuries Association of Fiji Old Skool Ball that focused to raise funds to assist those living with spinal injuries.
Viti Spinal Injuries Association President, Paul McGoon has confirmed that the association has set out plans to take on 4 projects with the money raised to assist those living with Spinal Cord Injuries.
He says that the money raised is used to assist in providing a bit more comfort to those with Spinal Cord Injuries and their carers and one of the four major projects is to build a new house for 30‑year‑old Spinal Cord injury patient.
McGoon adds that 300 people living with Spinal injuries, disabilities and amputations are being assisted by the Viti Spinal Injuries Association.
He says this assistance include the purchasing of diapers, modification of walkways, bathroom and toilets, building of ramps and the building of a house will be the first project of its kind that association will take on this year.
McGoon says their major project of building a home will cost $15-$20,000.
