You can make a difference - Seruiratu

‘No matter who you are or how old you are, you can also make a difference and be a warrior for change.

This was highlighted by the Minister for Agriculture, Rural and Maritime Development Inia Seruiratu as he will be part of the team taking responsibilities of co-hosting the UN Oceans Conference in New York in June.

Seruiratu says the extreme weather events like Cyclone Winston and the rising sea levels that threaten many places including his own village - Kumi in Tailevu.

He says the future of Fiji and the planet is at stake and we are taking responsibilities not only for every Fijian and every Pacific islander but for all 7.5 billion people on earth.

Seruiratu says that Climate Change threatens the agriculture, the food people eat, the drinking water, land, economy and security of the nation.

He stresses that oceans are also threatened by pollution and they will take the responsibilities of fighting for everyone’s survival.
