The Working Committee of the National Federation Party has authorized the Management Board of the Party to take necessary action on the suspension of Tupou Draunidalo from Parliament.
Party’s Leader, Biman Prasad said the Working Committee has recommended to seek further legal advice on whether it is appropriate to take the matter to court.
Prasad said the Working Committee has also recommended to publicize the suspension and the severity of the punishment to the international community and raise it with the Inter Parliamentary Union and other international bodies that deal with Parliamentary issues.
Draunidalo was suspended for the remainder of the term of parliament earlier this month after she used offensive words in parliament when Education Minister, Doctor Mahendra Reddy was speaking in the house.
Meanwhile, Prasad said the Working Committee of the NFP has asked the Party leadership to strengthen the party’s branches around the country in preparation for the 2018 general elections.
NFP’s AGM will be held on 4th September in Rakiraki.
