A 37-year-old woman and a 7-month-old baby are admitted in hospital after they fell down from the third floor of a housing flat in Mead Road in Suva.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro says the woman was holding her neighbour's baby and the incident occurred at about 5pm yesterday.
It is alleged that the woman was leaning on the wooden railing when they fell three storeys down.
Public Rental Board Acting General Manager Patrick Veu says the incident was reported to them and the repairs were undertaken this morning.
When questioned by Fijivillage on whether thorough checks are conducted on PRB flats and regular repairs are done, Veu says that they are thoroughly looking at other areas that may need immediate attention.
He says that PRB tenants are also requested to lodge complaints to assist the Board in rectifying faults to PRB buildings.
