Police Commissioner Sitiveni Qiliho

Police Commissioner Sitiveni Qiliho is calling on members of the community to act and pass on information to Police regarding the cultivation and selling of marijuana and other hard drugs like methamphetamine and cocaine.

Qiliho says Police have information that a few methamphetamine crystals are being offered to people for $50 in upmarket nightclubs and even service stations.

In an interview with Fijivillage, Qiliho says there will definitely be a devastating effect on our country if more people take hard drugs.

He says people need to act now to stop this illegal trade.

8 million dollars worth of methamphetamine has been intercepted through the mailing system alone so far this year.

This also means that there is a lot more hard drugs in the country.

Every effort is being made to intercept any hard drugs coming through Nadi International Airport. The same will be done at Nausori Airport and the sea ports soon.
