Two separate accidents claim 2 lives

Two separate accidents have resulted in the death of two men.

Police say the first case was reported in Waqadra, Nadi yesterday afternoon where a 40 year old man died after he was seriously injured when the lock of a spare tyre casing snapped and hit his face.

Police say the man was a driver of the vehicle next to the vehicle to which the spare tyre casing snapped.

The man was rushed to the Nadi Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The second incident Police say occurred in Kadavu early yesterday morning whereby a farmer from Nacomoto Village died after the fiber glass boat he was travelling in collided into another boat.

Police say the incident occurred after 1am at Muaisolo Bay, Naceva.

The victim was traveling on a boat operated by a 36 year old man.

Due to the impact of the collision the victim was thrown out of the boat and found 2 meters at the bottom of the sea.

The suspect is alleged to have been traveling at very high speed when the accident occurred.

Police have confirmed that the suspect and 3 others traveling in the second boat are admitted at the Vunisea Hospital as investigations continue.
