Two men charged with two counts each of being in possession of illicit drugs have appeared in the Suva Magistrates Court.
The two, 53-year-old Peter Fong and 42-year-old Salomoni Boini were part of a group that were taken in for questioning after a raid at Namadi Heights.
Peter Fong is charged with one count of unlawful possession of 12.9 grams of methamphetamine, one count of unlawful possession of 0.9 grams of marijuana and one count of bribery for allegedly trying to offer a police officer a bribe of $5,000.
Boini is charged with one count of unlawful possession of 0.1 gram of methamphetamine and one count of unlawful possession of 4.7 grams of marijuana.
Police prosecutor Sanil Kumar objected to bail.
Fong and Boini have been further remanded in custody.
Magistrate Jioji Boseiwaqa will deliver his bail ruling today.
Four people were questioned at the Nabua Police Station after they were found trading methamphetamine at Namadi Heights on Friday.
Police say an early morning raid was conducted and the team was able to seize marijuana and apparatus believed to be used in the manufacturing of illicit substances.
