The trial of 16 people facing charges of sedition will start in the Lautoka High Court today.
Ratu Epeli Niudamu, Sailasa Malani, Sereima Rokodi, Nanise Nagusuca, Waisea Duailima, Isikeli Kabakoro, Laisiasa Mocevakaca, Emosi Toga, Waisake Racaca, Samuela Ligabalavu, Mikaele Gonerara, Josefa Natau, Sulueti Waqalala, Ulaiyasi Rabua Tuivomo, Apolosi Qalilawa and Ilisapeci Natau are charged with sedition in relation to the alleged Ra sovereign Christian state matter.
All accused persons are charged with two counts each of sedition except Nanise Nagusuca and Waisea Duailima who are charged with four counts each of sedition.
The trial starts before Lautoka High Court Judge Justice Aruna Aluthge today.
All accused persons are on bail.
