The new CEO of Fiji Sugar Corporation Graham Clark says they probably have too many people employed at FSC.
A major review of the Fiji Sugar Corporation will begin soon and the possibility of job redundancies at FSC has not been ruled out.
When questioned by Fijivillage, Clark says it is too early to say if there will be job cuts but there may be redeployment in different positions.
The FSC currently has a workforce of 1,239.
Meanwhile Sugar Ministry’s Permanent Secretary Yogesh Karan had mentioned earlier this month that the review of the FSC will result in job losses.
He had stated that they will have to right‑size the FSC.
According to the 2015 Annual Report, FSC recorded an operating loss of $31.7 million, compared to an operating profit of $6.9 million in 2014.
