History counts for nothing when the Vodafone Fiji 7s team plays in the Hong Kong 7s tournament.
Those are the words of Fiji coach Ben Ryan as we get ready to take on Samoa in our first match at So Kon Po Stadium early tomorrow morning.
Ryan said the team is mentally focused on the task that lies ahead of them.
Fiji captain Osea Kolinisau also said the team is fully aware that they should not get overexcited and overconfident.
Fiji is a well balanced team with Eminoni Nasilasila, Apisai Domolailai, Isake Katonibau, Jasa Veremalua, Jerry Tuwai, Josaia Wini, Osea Kolinisau, Pio Tuwai, Samisoni Viriviri, Savenaca Rawaca and Semi Kunatani.
40,000 spectators are expected to fill up the Hong Kong Stadium where the prize money for the Cup Final win is US$150,000.
Fiji is pooled with Samoa, Belgium and Canada.
They will face Samoa in their first game at 12.44am tomorrow.
Fiji will take on Belgium at 5.46pm tomorrow and then take on Canada at 9.48pm.
The HK 7s Cup quarterfinals will start at 2.58pm Sunday, the semis will start at 7.46pm Sunday while the Cup final will kick off at 11pm Sunday.
