Speaker of Parliament Doctor Jiko Luveni

Speaker of Parliament Doctor Jiko Luveni has said she is yet to make a decision on whether she will file a complaint with the Police in relation to the derogatory remarks and foul language used in relation to her in the SODELPA meeting in Makoi earlier this month.

Doctor Luveni told Fijivillage that this is not on her mind at the moment as she is busy with a workshop however she will look into it later.

SODELPA MP Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu has been suspended from parliament for two years after making the comments.

Meanwhile, Doctor Luveni also said people should stop spreading lies in public forums and blog sites about her.

She said this does not do anyone any good and is totally distasteful.

A lot of offensive language has also been used by some of the individuals.

Police Chief of Intelligence ACP Henry Brown said they totally reject this type of behaviour.

He said people should not resort to using vulgar language against other individuals in any type of public forum.

ACP Brown said they will also work on complaints received.
