The Scotland 7s team stands as a major threat to Fiji in their Medal quarterfinal clash in the Paris 7s tonight after stunning South Africa 19-12 yesterday.
Scotland is undefeated in the tournament and forward Scott Riddell says all games have been tough.
Based on consistency and form this season, the Vodafone Fiji 7s team is the favourite in their Medal quarterfinal clash against Scotland.
Fiji and Scotland have met twice this season and in both occasions the Olympic champions won.
This season Scotland has only crossed Fiji’s tryline four times.
The Scottish fell 19-12 to the Fiji in the Medal semifinals of the Wellington 7s.
Fiji also beat Scotland 24-12 in the pool stage of the Las Vegas 7s.
However, Scotland has been the more disciplined side this season compared to Fiji.
Fiji has received 21 yellow cards this season with the latest in the match against Australia this morning when Sevuloni Mocenacagi was sent to the bin.
The Scotland 7s team has received four yellow cards this season which is the lowest by any team.
Looking at the pool game results, Fiji lost 19-17 to Samoa and thrashed Russia 54-0. They defeated Australia 31-14 in their final pool game.
Fiji will play Scotland at 8.28 tonight while England will take on USA at 8.50pm, Samoa will play South Africa at 9.12pm while New Zealand will play France at 9.34pm.
The Medal semifinals will be played at 12.18am tomorrow while the medal final will be played at 3.33am tomorrow.
