Police Commissioner Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho

Police Commissioner Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho says it is about time that religious gatherings are held in the day and parents should ensure that they accompany their children to church services and other gatherings.

Speaking to Fijivillage, Qiliho says police are now looking at different strategies to ensure that children do not become the targets of sexual predators due to lack of supervision and parental negligence.

He says there is a real concern about the number of cases under investigation in relation to parental negligence.

Qiliho says they will continue to try their best to reduce the numbers of rapes and domestic violence cases in the country.

Concerns have been raised on the number of people who leave their children alone at home while they go for religious meetings.

Many people have also raised the issue regarding parents letting their children go out alone at night.
