The Suva High Court has ordered former radio personality Emosi Radrodro to pay $10,000 to the Managing Director of Fiji Fashion Week, Ellen Whippy Knight for defaming her on Facebook.
Radrodro has also been ordered to pay $2,500 to Fiji Fashion Week.
He had made a series of posts on Facebook making allegations against Fiji Fashion Week and Ellen Whippy Knight of sexual misconduct.
The court heard that Radrodro had been posting statements on Facebook alleging that he was the reason for Whippy-Knight’s success and that Fiji Fashion Week Ltd was selling models to rich white men.
The court also heard that Radrodro was urging the public not to buy tickets of the Fiji Fashion Week events on Facebook.
Whippy-Knight had applied for a permanent injunction restraining Radrodro from publishing the statements but has been declined by the Suva High Court.
Fiji Fashion Week which was the first plaintiff in this case had claimed that their reputation has been seriously damaged and their business continues to suffer losses and damages .
The above claim has also been declined by the Suva High Court.
The Court has also ordered Fiji Fashion Week to pay a sum of $2, 000 to Radrodro.
