Lynda Tabuya and SODELPA Party Leader and former Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka

SODELPA Party Leader and former Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka says that there are factions within SODELPA that would rather burn it to the ground than see him lead; and to them he says that the fight is not about their individual aspirations but about a united vision for a better tomorrow.

Speaking at the SODELPA Nasinu branch fundraising event last night which was organised by Lynda Tabuya, Rabuka says party members were not very welcoming of the idea of Lynda Tabuya joining SODELPA.

Rabuka then said that Lynda has raised the party’s profile and has strengthened SODELPA’s commitment to workers rights.

Rabuka also says that a SODELPA government will ensure that proper consultation is undertaken in matters of the vanua, instead of government imposing it’s will.

He also says that a SODELPA government will not use the army to interfere in matters of the vanua but ensure that they are focused on peacekeeping duties abroad.

He adds that when they come into power they will ensure a fairer representation in awarding scholarships and they will abolish the TELs loans scheme programme.
