Rabuka charged by FICAC

Former Prime Minister and SODELPA Leader Sitiveni Rabuka has been charged in relation to the declaration of his assets and liabilities as required under the Political Parties Registration, Conduct, Funding and Disclosures Act.

Speaking outside the FICAC headquarters in the last hour, Rabuka confirmed that he was formally charged this morning and he is expected to appear in court later today.

Rabuka says no one is above the law and the status of a person does not matter.

Sitiveni Rabuka says SODELPA is bigger than any individual and it does not matter if he goes away.

FICAC confirmed this morning that Rabuka was being caution interviewed earlier today.

When questioned by Fijivillage on whether any charges have been laid, FICAC said that they will not make any further comments at this stage.

Rabuka is currently in custody and will appear in court this afternoon.

Former Prime Minister and SODELPA Leader Sitiveni Rabuka is currently being questioned by FICAC in relation to the declaration of his assets and liabilities as required under the Political Parties Registration, Conduct, Funding and Disclosures Act.

Rabuka has confirmed that the questioning is still underway.

Rabuka says SODELPA is bigger than any individual and it does not matter if he goes away.

We have received confirmation from FICAC that Rabuka is being caution interviewed this hour.

When questioned by Fijivillage on what Rabuka is being investigated for and whether any charges have been laid, FICAC said that they will not make any further comments at this stage.
