President Jioji Konrote has called on Fijians to continue to stand together saying our unity has been the single greatest driver of our progress.

In his Fiji Day message, President Konrote says our common identity and our shared purpose have been the cornerstones of our success.

He says when Fijians stand together as one nation and one people they are capable of greatness.

He also says that he is proud that our economic growth has reduced inequality in our country and has led to greater and better opportunities for ordinary Fijians - not only for the elite, but for every Fijian at every level of society and in every corner of our country.

The President has also remembered Fijian peacekeepers serving around the world in his Fiji Day message.

Thousands of people turned up for the National Fiji Day celebration at Prince Charles Park to celebrate our 47th Anniversary of Independence and Sovereignty.

This is the first time National Fiji Day celebrations was held in the Western Division.
