Preliminary figures indicate that 49 thousand 505 registered voters cast their votes during the pre-polling period which ends today.
Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem said they are yet to receive some figures from the Eastern Division.
The total confirmed figure for pre-polling will be revealed tomorrow.
Saneem confirmed that more than 520 thousand people are expected to cast their vote on polling day this Wednesday.
Saneem said all sealed ballot boxes for pre-polling are kept at a secure facility and will be opened after 6pm Wednesday for counting.
He said they have proper seals in place which cannot be changed.
Polling will be held from 7.30am to 6pm Wednesday.
