The Fiji Trades Union Congress says the Fiji Police Force is still yet to give a permit for the planned Workers Rally and March in Suva this Saturday but it has received approvals from the Fiji Roads Authority and the Suva City Council for the use of Ratu Sukuna Park.
FTUC National Secretary Felix Anthony says they welcome the change of heart from the Fiji Roads Authority and the Suva City Council and the only party causing the delay now is the Police.
He says they spoke to Police again this morning and got the same response they got last Friday which was they may get a response today.
Anthony says they hope the Police understand that they have people from all around the country that will be part of the rally and they need to make arrangements.
Police Spokesperson Ana Naisoro says the permit is still in the verification process.
