People can expect more rain this long weekend as a heavy rain warning remains in force for the interior and eastern half of Viti Levu that include, Rakiraki, Korovou, Nausori, Suva, Lami, Navua and Pacific Harbour, Lau and Lomaiviti group, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands.
The Nadi Weather Office says a heavy rain alert also remains in force for Vanua Levu.
It says that this is due to a trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain that lies slow moving over the Eastern part of the Fiji group and this system is expected to clear by later next Wednesday.
People can expect periods of rain, heavy at times and squally thunderstorms.
Localised heavy falls may also lead to flash flooding of low lying areas.
