The son of the pastor of the Agape Mission Fellowship Church in Nasinu who allegedly raped two boys in 2017 appeared before High Court Judge, Justice Daniel Goundar today.
It was told in court that the accused and the two boys attended the same church at the time.
The two boys were aged 14 and 15 years at the time of the incident.
The prosecution has objected to bail. Prosecutor, Swastika Sharma says before the accused was charged, he and his mother approached the father of one of the boys to seek for forgiveness adding the complainant’s family declined the request.
Justice Goundar then asked what was the forgiveness for to which the prosecution said that it was based on what had happened.
The defence informed the court that the accused’s mother heard about the alleged stories involving her son and that is why they approached the boy’s father for forgiveness.
The defence also says there was no further attempts made to seek forgiveness.
The man is charged with three counts of rape, three counts of attempted rape and three counts of sexual assault.
Justice Goundar will deliver the bail ruling next Wednesday.
