“I am the Prime Minister for all Fijians”
This statement was made by Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama while speaking to supporters at the FijiFirst Interfaith Thanks-giving service in Labasa yesterday.
Speaking to about 500 people at Subrail Park, Bainimarama said that the government will stand to serve all Fijians.
He said that the results of the September 17th General elections was a victory for all Fijians.
He also thanked everyone who believed in FijiFirst’s vision of serving a nation of all Fijians.
He said that everyone who voted for FijiFirst voted for Justice and Equality.
Bainimarama also thanked the members of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces who stood by him to bring true democracy.
He also thanked the RFMF for standing by him through the events of 2000.
He acknowledged the members of the RFMF for their vision and sacrifice which has now given Fiji a new legacy of parliamentary democracy.
Bainimarama also urged the minority who are still caught in the past to move forward with the government.
He said that we must have an inclusive, modern and prosperous Fiji where no one is left behind.
He said that the days of favoring special interest groups, the elite and certain areas in the country are over as Fiji is now on a new path of looking at the needs of ordinary Fijians.
He said that the next phase of their reforms will be built on what they have already started and that they will take it to another level.
He added that they will create a new wave of economic growth that will meet the needs of all Fijians.
The FijiFirst Inter-faith service was attended by several government ministers and party candidates.
