The New Zealand 7s team has won the Cape Town 7s after defeating Argentina 38-14 in the final.
New Zealand was leading 14-7 at halftime.
Players who have links to Fiji, Joe Ravouvou and Vilimoni Koroi were instrumental in the win.
Ravouvou scored two tries in the first half while Koroi scored one try.
NZ beat England 17-12 in the Cup quarterfinal and then beat South Africa 19-12 in the semifinal.
Argentina beat Canada 14-12 in the Cup semifinal. They had beaten USA 28-12 in Cup quarterfinal.
The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team finished in fifth place in the Cape Town 7s after beating USA 26‑12.
Fiji was bundled out of the main competition after losing to South Africa 31-26 in the Cup quarterfinal.
Fiji received a penalty try in the fifth minute after a high tackle from speedster Seabelo Senatla which led to a yellow card.
Senatla came back and scored two tries for the Blitzboks.
The National Men’s 7s side led the Blitzboks 21‑12 at halftime.
Mistackles and errors from the national side gave Kwagga Smith the opportunity to score under the sticks.
Fiji’s tries were scored by Amenoni Nasilasila, Josua Vakurunabili and Kalione Nasoko.
Fiji led the Blitzboks 26‑24 with a minute remaining before Senatla scored from a mistackle.
The next tournament is in Sydney from January 26th to 28th.
